In a peaceful valley lived two neighbors, Ravi and Somu. Ravi was a hardworking gardener who took great pride in his small, vibrant flower garden. Somu, on the other hand, owned much larger lands but lacked the passion to nurture them. Whenever Ravi’s garden bloomed with colorful roses and fragrant jasmine, Somu would feel a sting in his heart. Instead of being happy for his friend, he would mutter, 'Why does Ravi get all the luck? Why is his garden always so much better than mine?'
As time passed, Ravi’s garden became the pride of the village. He discovered a way to grow rare herbs that brought him much respect and prosperity. Somu, consumed by jealousy, stopped tending to his own vast fields. He spent all his time watching Ravi, thinking of ways to complain about Ravi's success. He became so obsessed with what Ravi had that he forgot to look after what he already possessed.
Slowly, Somu’s lands turned into a wasteland of weeds and dry soil. His wealth began to fade away because he neglected his duties. While Ravi’s prosperity grew, Somu’s life became difficult. One evening, seeing Ravi sharing his harvest with the villagers, Somu realized his mistake. He understood that by envying Ravi, he had invited misfortune into his own life. He approached Ravi, not with jealousy, but with a sincere heart, asking to learn the art of gardening. He learned that true prosperity comes from nurturing one's own path, not by hating another's.
