In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Arjun and his father, Ravi, a hardworking woodcutter. One afternoon, while walking through the forest, Ravi spotted something glittering beneath an old oak tree. It was a bright gold coin. Arjun’s eyes widened with excitement. "Father, look! We can buy all the sweets and toys we ever wanted with this!" he exclaimed.
Ravi looked at the coin and then at his son. "Arjun, this coin doesn't belong to us. Taking what isn't rightfully ours might bring us wealth, but it will take away our peace of mind," he said gently. Arjun felt a momentary tug of greed, but seeing the calm and dignified look in his father's eyes, he felt a sense of shame at the thought of being unfair.
The next day, Arjun saw the village merchant, Mr. Khanna, searching frantically for something. He was heartbroken because he had lost a precious coin. Without hesitation, Ravi approached him and returned the gold coin. Mr. Khanna was overjoyed and praised Ravi's honesty in front of everyone. While Ravi accepted a small token of gratitude, he did so with humility. Arjun realized that the joy of doing the right thing was far greater than any treasure gained through dishonesty.
