In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Kari. He loved nature and treated every small creature with kindness. One sunny afternoon, Kari was playing in the garden with his friend, Sam. Sam picked up a small pebble and aimed it at a tiny sparrow resting on a branch. 'Let's see if we can hit it!' Sam laughed.
Kari quickly stepped in. 'Don't do that, Sam. It might hurt the bird.' Sam rolled his eyes. 'It's just a game, Kari. The bird won't even care.'
To make Sam understand, Kari did something unexpected. He took a small thorn from a rose bush and carefully pressed it against his own finger until it pricked him. 'Ouch!' Kari cried out, his eyes tearing up from the sudden sting. Sam jumped back, startled. 'Kari! Are you okay? That looked painful!'
Kari looked at Sam calmly and said, 'If this tiny prick feels so bad to me, imagine how much it hurts that little sparrow. If I cannot bear pain, why should we cause it to others?'
Sam felt a wave of regret wash over him. He looked at the sparrow, then at the pebble in his hand, and quietly dropped it. From that day on, Sam and Kari became the best of friends, always looking out for the smallest creatures in their garden.
