In a peaceful valley lived a young boy named Leo. Leo was very attached to his belongings. He believed that his collection of colorful stones and wooden toys would stay with him forever. One evening, his grandfather, Silas, sat him down and said, "Leo, the world has a strange rhythm. What is here today may be gone tomorrow. Nothing in this life is permanent."
Leo laughed, thinking his grandfather was just telling old tales. But a few weeks later, a heavy storm swept through the valley. The rising river carried away his favorite wooden boat and his precious collection of stones. Leo sat by the window, feeling empty and sad. He felt as if his world had ended.
Grandfather Silas walked in and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Do you see, Leo? The river took what was yours, just as time takes everything. The greatness of this world lies in its constant change. Since nothing stays, we should not hold onto things too tightly. Instead, we should hold onto kindness and memories, for those are the only things that truly enrich our souls."
Leo wiped his tears. He realized that while his toys were gone, the love of his family remained. He learned to value moments rather than just things.
