In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Arjun. One afternoon, while sitting by the pond with his grandfather, Arjun noticed something curious. He saw a beautiful lotus flower floating gracefully on the water.
'Grandpa, why do some lotus flowers look so tall while others stay close to the water?' Arjun asked.
His grandfather smiled and pointed to the pond. 'Look closely, Arjun. The length of the lotus stem depends on how deep the water is. If the water is deep, the stem grows long to reach the surface. If the water is shallow, the stem remains short. The flower adapts to the depth of its environment.'
Arjun thought for a moment and asked, 'Does this happen to people too?'
'Yes, my boy,' his grandfather replied gently. 'A person's greatness is not measured by what they possess, but by the depth of their thoughts and character. Just as the lotus reaches for the light based on the water's depth, a person rises to great heights only when their mind is deep with wisdom, patience, and kindness. If your mind is shallow, your achievements will be small. But if you cultivate a deep and noble mind, you will achieve greatness.'
Arjun realized that instead of just wanting to be famous, he wanted to grow a mind as deep and beautiful as the ocean.
