In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Arjun. His father was a wise farmer. One morning, while walking through their garden, Arjun's father noticed a tiny, soft-looking thorn bush sprouting near the path.
"Arjun, let's pull this out now while it is small," his father suggested. Arjun laughed, "But Father, it is so tiny! It won't hurt anyone. We can deal with it later."
His father looked at him seriously and said, "A small thorn is easy to handle, but if it grows into a thicket, it will wound the very hand that tries to clear it. It is the same with bad habits and bad company."
Arjun ignored the advice. Weeks passed, and the little bush grew into a large, dense thorn bush with long, sharp spikes. One afternoon, while running through the garden, Arjun tripped and fell right into the bush. A large thorn pierced his hand deeply. He cried out in pain, clutching his bleeding hand.
His father rushed to him and helped him. As he cleaned the wound, he said gently, "Do you see, Arjun? Because we didn't remove it when it was small, it has caused you pain today."
Arjun realized his mistake. He understood that just like the thorn, one must identify and walk away from bad influences and negative traits before they become too strong to manage.
