Anbu and Nila lived in a peaceful little village. One evening, Nila felt a bit upset with Anbu because he had forgotten a small promise. To show her displeasure, she decided to act a little grumpy and stopped talking to him. It was a 'pretend anger'—she didn't truly want to stay away from him; she just wanted him to notice her feelings.
As they sat in the same room, a heavy silence grew between them. Nila felt a strange sadness. She kept wondering, 'Will he come to talk to me soon, or will this silence last forever?' This uncertainty—the doubt about when they would be close again—was much more painful than the original argument. She felt restless and lonely, even though he was right there.
Seeing her quietness, Anbu realized something was wrong. He didn't argue back; instead, he gently brought her favorite jasmine flower and sat beside her with a soft smile. Seeing his sincere effort to make things right, Nila’s heart melted. She realized that the fear of being apart was much worse than the small disagreement. They laughed together again, their bond feeling stronger than ever.
