In a vast, green forest lived a mighty lion named Vikram. Vikram was not just strong; he was incredibly arrogant. Even when his stomach was full, he would hunt and terrify the other animals just for the thrill of it. The forest was filled with constant fear.

To stop the chaos, the animals held a meeting. They approached Vikram with a proposal: "Great King, instead of you hunting us all day, we promise to send one animal to your den every day. This way, you can rest, and the rest of us can live in peace." Vikram, liking the idea of an easy meal, agreed.

One sunny afternoon, it was the turn of a small rabbit named Pip. Pip was tiny, but his mind was sharper than a thorn. He had no intention of becoming a meal. As he hopped slowly toward the lion's den, he thought of a way to outsmart the king.

When Pip finally arrived, the sun was already setting. Vikram was furious. "Why are you so late? I am starving!" he roared, his voice shaking the trees.

Pip bowed low and pretended to tremble. "Oh, mighty King, please forgive me! I was on my way, but I encountered another lion in a deep rocky crevice. He claimed he was the true king of this forest and even ate my companions!"

Vikram's eyes flashed with rage. "Another lion? Show me where he is at once!"

Pip led him to a deep, dark hollow between two large rocks where a pool of rainwater had gathered. "He is hiding in there, waiting to challenge you," Pip whispered.

Vikram peered into the dark hollow. In the still water at the bottom, he saw his own fierce reflection. Thinking it was a rival, he let out a mighty roar and lunged into the hollow to attack. However, the rocks were slippery and steep. Vikram tumbled down into the narrow space, unable to climb back out easily.

Pip quickly hopped away to tell the others. The forest was finally free from the tyrant's shadow, and all the animals celebrated the bravery and wit of the little rabbit.
