In a peaceful countryside, there lived a small, clever dog named Mani. Mani was not just a pet; he was a very responsible companion to his master, a hardworking farmer. Every morning, Mani would carefully carry a small basket of fresh bread and fruit on his back to the farm. He moved so gracefully that not a single crumb ever fell to the ground. His master was incredibly proud of Mani’s dedication.

However, the neighborhood dogs were deeply jealous of the respect Mani received. They would often wait for him on the path and whisper, "Why work so hard? Just eat the food yourself and relax!" Mani always ignored them and finished his task. But as time went on, the neighborhood dogs began to tease him relentlessly, calling him a 'servant dog' and mocking his hard work.

One afternoon, the insults stung Mani so much that he felt lonely and hurt. In a moment of weakness, he decided to eat a small portion of the food intended for his master. Seeing this, the neighborhood dogs gathered around and barked loudly in laughter. "Look at that!" they jeered. "He was pretending to be good all this time, but he is just like us!"

Mani felt a deep sense of shame. He realized that by trying to escape their mockery, he had actually given them a reason to laugh at him. The next morning, his master noticed Mani's drooping ears and sad eyes. He sat beside Mani and said softly, "Mani, do not let the unkind words of others change the wonderful dog you are. Your value comes from your heart, not their laughter."

Understanding his master's words, Mani regained his confidence. He learned that staying true to himself was much more important than pleasing those who only wanted to see him fail.
