In a peaceful village lived a kind man named Mulla. He owned a donkey that he treated like a member of his own family. Mulla was a man of great habit; he would never eat his own meal until he was sure his donkey had finished its fodder. The villagers often admired the deep bond between the man and his animal.

One bright morning, while Mulla was sitting on his porch, he noticed an unusual silence. Usually, he could hear the rhythmic sound of the donkey munching on hay, but today, there was nothing. A sudden chill ran down his spine. He rushed to the backyard and saw that the rope holding the donkey had snapped. The donkey was gone!

"My dear friend is lost!" Mulla cried out in distress. Hearing his calls, the villagers gathered and spent the entire day searching through the nearby woods and fields. They looked everywhere, but the donkey was nowhere to be found. By sunset, everyone returned home feeling exhausted and sad for Mulla.

Later that evening, Mulla was seen sitting calmly at the village tea stall. His face was bright, and he seemed to be in high spirits. A neighbor approached him and asked, "Mulla, how can you be so happy? Your beloved donkey has disappeared!"

Mulla let out a gentle laugh and replied, "My friend, think about it. If I had been riding on the donkey's back when it ran away, I would have disappeared along with it! Because I was sitting safely on my porch, I am still here!"

The villagers fell silent. They realized that Mulla wasn't being careless; he was looking at the situation with wisdom and a sense of humor. They learned that instead of panicking when things go wrong, one should stay calm and look at the bright side. From that day on, the villagers began to face their troubles with a smile, just like Mulla.
