In a vibrant kingdom lived a brave young man named Kavi. He was known for his courage and for speaking up against injustice. Because of his bold words, the King grew angry and sentenced him to a heavy punishment in the royal dungeon.
While in captivity, Kavi made a humble request to the King. "Your Majesty, please allow me to visit my elderly mother just once before my sentence begins. She is waiting for me and needs my care."
The King remained firm. "The law is the same for everyone. I cannot grant you special favors," he replied.
Kavi's closest friend, Arjun, could not bear to see his friend in despair. He stepped forward bravely. "Your Majesty, let Kavi go home to fulfill his duty. In his place, I will accept the punishment. I cannot see my friend suffer alone."
Impressed by Arjun's selfless spirit, the King agreed. Kavi rushed home to see his mother, but a sudden storm delayed his return. By the time Kavi reached the palace, the guards were preparing to carry out the sentence on Arjun.
Kavi ran toward them, tears in his eyes. "Stop! Please, forgive me for being late. Take me instead of Arjun!" he pleaded.
Arjun looked at him with a calm smile and said, "Kavi, you have fulfilled your promise to your mother. That is what matters most. I promised to stand by you, and I will keep that promise, no matter what."
Witnessing such profound loyalty and love between the two friends, the King's heart melted. He realized that true friendship was more powerful than any law. "I have never seen such devotion," the King declared. "Your bond is a lesson to us all. You are both forgiven."
He released them both, and the two friends walked home, their bond stronger than ever.
