In the heart of a lush, green forest lived a massive elephant named Gajapathi. Although Gajapathi was incredibly kind, his enormous size often frightened the other animals. This left him feeling very lonely. 'If only I had a friend to share my days with,' he would sigh to himself.
One bright morning, Gajapathi decided to go on a journey to find a companion. First, he spotted a playful monkey swinging from a branch. 'Hello, little monkey!' Gajapathi called out softly. 'Would you like to be my friend?' The monkey looked down and laughed, 'You are far too big for me! We couldn't play hide-and-seek or climb trees together. Go find someone your own size!' And with a quick leap, the monkey disappeared.
Feeling a bit sad, Gajapathi continued his walk and met a tiny mouse near a bush. 'Little mouse, shall we be friends?' he asked hopefully. The mouse trembled and squeaked, 'If you even step near me, I might get squashed! You are too huge to be my friend.' The mouse scurried into its hole. Gajapathi also approached a frog and a fox, but they all gave him the same answer: 'Find someone who matches your size!'
As Gajapathi walked back home, heavy-hearted, a sudden commotion broke out in the forest. A fierce, hungry tiger had entered the woods, chasing all the smaller animals. The forest was filled with cries of fear. A frightened monkey cried out from a high branch, 'The tiger is coming! Help us!'
Gajapathi realized that his neighbors were in great danger. Without a second thought, he marched toward the sound of the trouble. When the tiger lunged toward a group of trembling animals, Gajapathi stepped in between them. He let out a mighty, earth-shaking trumpet and stomped his heavy feet on the ground. The sheer power and size of the elephant terrified the tiger. Realizing it was no match for the giant, the tiger turned and fled the forest forever.
The animals emerged from their hiding places, staring in awe. The monkey, the mouse, and the fox all gathered around Gajapathi. 'We were so wrong,' the monkey said. 'We thought size mattered, but you have the biggest heart of all. Will you be our friend?' Gajapathi smiled brightly, knowing he was finally home.
