In a lush green forest, there lived a deer named Kavin. Kavin was exceptionally beautiful, especially its magnificent, branching antlers that shimmered in the sunlight. One scorching afternoon, feeling terribly thirsty, Kavin wandered toward a crystal-clear forest pond.
As Kavin leaned down to drink, it saw its reflection in the still water. 'Oh, how majestic I look!' Kavin thought with great pride. 'My antlers are like a crown of gold. I am surely the most handsome creature in this woods.' However, when Kavin glanced down at its slender, plain legs, a look of disappointment crossed its face. 'But these legs... they are so thin and ordinary. Why did nature give me such grand antlers but such simple, unattractive legs?' Kavin sighed heavily.
While Kavin was lost in its own admiration, a hungry leopard had been watching from the shadows. Sensing an opportunity, the leopard lunged forward with a roar. Terrified, Kavin bolted through the trees, its heart racing.
In the frantic escape, Kavin’s grand antlers became its downfall. As it raced through a thicket of dense bushes, the wide branches of the antlers got tangled in the thorny vines. Kavin pulled and tugged desperately, but the more it struggled, the tighter the branches held on. 'Oh no!' Kavin cried in panic. 'My beautiful antlers, which I loved so much, are now trapping me! If only I had valued my strong, simple legs instead of my vanity!'
By the time Kavin realized that its strength lay in its utility rather than its appearance, the leopard was already upon it. Kavin's pride had led it straight into a trap of its own making.
Moral
Beauty is a luxury, but utility is a necessity; do not despise what is useful for the sake of what is ornamental.
