In a lush green forest lived a large bear named Balu. Balu was known for one thing: his terrible temper. Whenever something didn't go his way, he would roar and stomp his feet in anger. Because of this, most animals avoided him.
One sunny afternoon, Balu was wandering through the woods feeling very hungry. His stomach was growling loudly. As he pushed through some thick bushes, he spotted a massive, golden honeycomb hanging from a low branch of a mango tree. 'Just what I need!' Balu thought with a grin. 'A sweet feast!'
He reached up with his heavy paws and began to poke at the honeycomb to get some honey. A tiny honeybee, who was guarding the hive, saw the damage being done. To protect its home, the little bee flew down and gave Balu a sharp sting right on his nose.
'Ouch! How dare you!' Balu roared, his face turning red with fury. 'I am the biggest animal in this forest, and a tiny insect thinks it can hurt me?' Instead of walking away, Balu became even angrier and tried to smash the entire honeycomb with his paws.
This was a big mistake. Seeing their home under attack, the entire swarm of bees flew out of the hive. They surrounded Balu, stinging him everywhere—on his ears, his back, and his legs. 'Help! Stop! It hurts!' Balu cried out, running as fast as his heavy legs could carry him. The bees were right behind him, buzzing loudly and stinging continuously.
Desperate to escape the stinging swarm, Balu spotted a deep pond nearby. He took a leap and plunged into the water. He stayed submerged under the cool water, holding his breath, until the buzzing sound of the bees faded away. When he finally climbed out, he was tired and sore. He realized that if he had just stayed calm instead of letting his anger take over, he wouldn't have ended up in such a painful mess.
Moral
Anger only leads to trouble; staying calm is the best way to solve problems.
