In a peaceful forest school, a wise teacher named Master Kavi was teaching his students about the strength of character. One evening, he decided to give them a test that was not about books, but about the heart.
"Tomorrow morning," Master Kavi announced, "I want each of you to bring a small handful of grain from your home stores. But there is a catch: you must take it without anyone noticing. It must be a secret act."
The next morning, the students arrived at the school with small pouches tucked in their belts. They whispered to one another, feeling proud of how clever they had been in sneaking the grain out. However, one student named Arjun arrived with nothing but empty hands.
Master Kavi looked around the circle. "Show me what you have brought," he instructed. One by one, the students revealed their grains. Finally, the Master turned to Arjun. "Arjun, why are your hands empty? Did you fail the task?"
Arjun bowed his head slightly and replied, "Master, I went to the storehouse as you asked. But as I reached for the grain, I felt a heavy weight in my chest. Even though no one in my house saw me, I knew what I was doing. My own heart was watching me, and I could not bear to be dishonest in front of my own soul."
A warm smile spread across Master Kavi's face. "Arjun, most people live their lives trying to hide their mistakes from others. But the most important person you must never lie to is yourself. By listening to your conscience, you have passed the greatest test of all."
