In the heart of a lush green forest lived a peacock named Neel. Neel was undeniably beautiful, with feathers that shimmered like jewels under the sunlight. However, his beauty had given him a very big ego. He believed that being the most beautiful meant he was superior to everyone else.
Every morning, Neel would spread his magnificent tail and parade in front of the other animals. "Look at my feathers!" he would boast. "Don't you wish you had even a fraction of my brilliance?" The other animals grew tired of his constant bragging and began to avoid him.
One afternoon, while Neel was admiring his reflection in a clear pond, he noticed a white crane named Shanti standing nearby, calmly searching for fish in the water. Neel couldn't resist the urge to mock her.
"Oh, Shanti," Neel laughed, shaking his colorful plumes. "How dull you look! You are as plain as a white sheet. Don't you feel sad that you lack such dazzling colors as mine?"
Shanti looked at Neel with a calm, gentle smile. "It is true, Neel," she replied softly. "Your feathers are indeed a masterpiece of nature. I cannot compete with your beauty. But, I have something that you do not.
"My wings are strong and steady. I can soar high above the treetops, glide through the clouds, and see the entire world from the vast blue sky. I can travel to distant lands in a single afternoon. Can you fly with those heavy, beautiful feathers of yours?"
Neel fell silent. For the first time, he realized that his beauty was limited to the ground. He had spent so much time looking down on others that he had forgotten that everyone has their own unique strength. He felt a deep sense of regret for his arrogance. From that day on, Neel stopped boasting and learned to respect the different talents of every creature in the forest.
