In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Kavi. Kavi was a bright boy, but he struggled with four shadows in his heart: jealousy, greed, anger, and harsh words. Whenever his friends got something new, he felt a sting of envy. When he wanted something that wasn't his, he couldn't think of anything else. If things didn't go his way, he would explode in anger and say things that hurt others.
One sunny afternoon, the village held an art competition. Kavi's friend, Arjun, drew a breathtaking landscape. Instead of being happy, Kavi felt a surge of jealousy. 'It's not even that good!' he thought bitterly. When Arjun was announced as the winner, Kavi shouted, 'You only won because you got lucky! Your drawing is terrible!' The joy left Arjun's face, and he walked away sadly.
That evening, Kavi's grandfather sat him down. 'Kavi,' he said gently, 'a person is truly great not by what they own, but by what they lack in their heart. If you carry jealousy, greed, anger, and bitter words, your goodness will be hidden like a lamp covered by a cloth.'
Kavi realized how much his words and feelings had hurt Arjun. The next morning, he went to Arjun, apologized sincerely, and congratulated him. He promised himself to guard his heart against those four shadows. Slowly, Kavi learned that true happiness comes from a calm and kind heart.
