Aditya's Balanced Heart

The story illustrates that loss and gain are inevitable, and the mark of a wise person is emotional stability during both. Loss and gain come not without cause; it is the ornament of the wise to preserve evenness of mind (under both)

In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Aditya. He helped his father run a small pottery shop. Aditya was very talented, but he had one habit: when something good happened, he would dance with extreme joy, and when something went wrong, he would sink into deep sadness.

One sunny afternoon, Aditya sold every single pot he had made for the village festival. He was so excited that he ran around shouting, "I am the best potter in the world!" However, the very next morning, a large, beautiful vase he had worked on for days accidentally slipped and shattered into pieces. Aditya burst into tears, crying, "Everything is ruined! I am a failure!"

His father sat beside him and spoke gently, "Aditya, gain and loss are like the rising and setting of the sun. They are part of life. A wise person does not let success make them boastful, nor does loss make them lose hope. The true strength lies in keeping your mind steady through both."

Aditya took a deep breath and wiped his tears. Instead of giving up, he picked up the pieces and started working again with calm focus. Within a week, his new creations were even more popular than the last. This time, when people praised him, he smiled warmly but remained calm. He had learned the secret of a steady heart.

The Lesson

True wisdom lies in maintaining an even mind through both success and failure.
