In a peaceful village lived two friends, Kavi and Rohan. Kavi was quick to anger; if anyone made a tiny mistake, he would shout and make a scene. Rohan, on the other hand, was calm and kind. He believed that responding to anger with anger only made things worse.
One sunny afternoon, while walking to the village fair, a young boy accidentally bumped into Rohan. Kavi immediately jumped up, 'Watch where you are going! Are you blind?' he yelled. The little boy’s eyes filled with tears. But Rohan simply knelt down, patted the boy's shoulder, and said, 'It’s okay, little one. Just be more careful next time.' He then smiled and continued walking.
Later that evening, the village elder held a gathering. He held up two things: a heavy clay pot and a tiny, shining gold coin. 'Who among you is truly valuable?' the elder asked.
Kavi boasted about how he never let anyone disrespect him. But the elder looked at Rohan and said, 'Kavi's anger pushes people away. But Rohan's patience brings people together. A person who can endure hardship and forgive others is like pure gold. We should cherish such people more than any treasure.' The villagers nodded in agreement, realizing that Rohan's calm heart was the village's greatest strength.
