In a peaceful valley lived a kind farmer named Arul. He didn't have much wealth, but he had a heart full of gold. Every evening, no matter how little food he had, Arul would set aside a small portion of his meal for the travelers and the hungry who passed by his cottage.
One year, a terrible drought struck the land. The fields turned brown, and food became scarce for everyone. Arul’s own pantry began to empty. One evening, an elderly woman, looking frail and exhausted, knocked on his door. Even though it was his last meal of the day, Arul didn't hesitate. He shared his warm rice and lentil soup with her, smiling as she ate.
As she finished, the woman looked at him with bright eyes and said, 'Young man, the kindness you show to others will always find its way back to you. Hunger will never be your master.'
Not long after, a wealthy merchant traveling through the valley heard of Arul's selfless nature. Impressed by his spirit, the merchant helped Arul set up a community kitchen that provided food for the entire village. Because Arul had spent his life feeding others, he never had to face the agony of hunger himself. His generosity became his shield.
