In a bright, sunny village lived a young boy named Kavin. Kavin was clever, but he had a habit that made his friends unhappy: he loved pointing out other people's mistakes. If someone tripped, or if a friend made a spelling error, Kavin would laugh and make a joke about it. One afternoon, his friend Ravi was drawing a picture in class. When Ravi drew a slightly crooked line, Kavin loudly remarked, 'Oh Ravi, you are so clumsy! That looks terrible!' Ravi felt embarrassed and put his head down.
That evening, Kavin's grandfather called him over. He handed him an old, dusty wooden box. 'Kavin, this is a magic mirror. It shows only the faults of whoever looks into it,' the grandfather said mysteriously. Kavin was excited. On his way home, he saw an elderly man drop a piece of litter on the path. Kavin looked through the mirror and saw a dark smudge on the man's face. Kavin chuckled. But then, curiosity took over, and he turned the mirror toward himself. To his horror, he saw a massive, dark blotch covering his own face! It was the smudge of his unkind words and judgmental attitude.
Kavin realized that while he was busy looking for flaws in others, he had ignored the growing flaws within himself. He felt a deep sense of regret. From that day on, Kavin stopped mocking others. Instead, he focused on correcting his own behavior and helping his friends improve. He learned that true leadership begins with self-correction.
