In a peaceful village lived a boy named Arjun. Arjun had a heart of gold and always wanted to help everyone. One afternoon, he saw his friend, Rohan, sitting under a tree looking devastated. Rohan’s pet puppy had gone missing. Seeing his friend in pain, Arjun thought, 'I will cheer him up with something wonderful!' He rushed to the market, spent all his savings, and bought a beautiful, expensive toy dog.
Arjun ran back and presented the toy to Rohan with a big smile. But instead of being happy, Rohan burst into even louder tears. Arjun was heartbroken and confused. 'I did something so good! Why is he more upset now?' he wondered.
An elderly woman named Meera, who was watching from nearby, walked up to him. 'Arjun, your intention was beautiful, but you forgot one thing,' she said gently. 'Rohan doesn't need a toy to replace his friend; he needs companionship and help to find his real puppy. When we act without understanding what a person truly feels or needs, our kindness can miss the mark.'
Arjun realized his mistake. The next day, instead of buying things, he spent the whole afternoon helping Rohan search the woods. Finally, they found the little puppy stuck in a bush. Rohan hugged his real pet, beaming with joy. Arjun learned that true help begins with understanding the heart of the person you are helping.
