In a peaceful village lived two friends, Arjun and Rohan. Arjun was a hard worker, while Rohan preferred sleeping under the shade of trees all day. One spring, the village head gifted them each a patch of dry land. 'The earth will give back what you give to it,' the elder warned.
Arjun woke up before dawn every day. He cleared the stones, dug the soil, and carefully watered his seeds. Even when the sun was scorching, he stayed in the field. Rohan, however, thought, 'The rain will come eventually, why work so hard?' He spent his days napping and watching the clouds pass by.
As the seasons changed, Arjun’s field turned into a sea of golden grain. He harvested plenty and felt a deep sense of pride. Rohan’s field was nothing but a mess of weeds and thorns. When Rohan sat hungry and sad, Arjun shared his food and said, 'Friend, prosperity doesn't find those who wait; it finds those who work. Laziness brings only emptiness, but effort brings abundance.' Rohan realized his mistake and decided to pick up the plow the very next day.
