In a peaceful village lived a young boy named Arjun and his grandfather. Arjun was a sensitive boy; if his favorite toy broke or if he didn't get the sweets he wanted, he would burst into tears. He believed that life should always be filled with nothing but happiness.
One sunny morning, Arjun planted a small rose sapling in their garden. He watered it every day, dreaming of the beautiful red flowers it would bear. However, a few days later, a heavy thunderstorm hit the village. When the sun came out the next morning, Arjun saw his little sapling crushed under the mud and broken stems.
Arjun sat by the garden, weeping bitterly. His grandfather walked up to him and sat quietly by his side. 'Why are you so sad, Arjun?' he asked gently.
'Grandpa, I did everything right! Why did the storm ruin my joy?' Arjun sobbed.
Grandfather smiled kindly and said, 'Arjun, the sun shines, but the rain must fall too. That is the way of the world. If we spend our whole lives chasing only the sunshine and running away from the rain, we will always be disappointed. If you accept that storms are a natural part of life, you won't be broken when they come. Instead of crying over the fallen plant, let us see how we can help it grow again.'
Arjun wiped his tears. He realized that the storm wasn't an enemy, just a part of nature. Together, they cleared the mud and propped the sapling up with a small stick. From that day on, Arjun learned to face challenges with a calm heart, knowing that neither joy nor sorrow lasts forever.
