In a small, peaceful village, a young boy named Kavin lived with his grandfather. Kavin loved tending to his little garden. One summer, a terrible drought hit the village. The vibrant flowers Kavin had nurtured began to wilt and turn brown. Kavin felt heartbroken. 'Grandpa, everything is dying! How can I ever be happy again?' he cried.
His grandfather sat beside him and spoke gently, 'Kavin, do not lose heart. This drought is just a season. While the flowers look dead above the ground, the life is still resting deep within the seeds under the soil. When the rains return, they will bloom even more beautifully. We must hold onto the joy of that coming bloom even now.'
Kavin struggled to stay positive, but he tried to imagine the colorful garden he would have once the rain arrived. He spent his days preparing the soil instead of mourning the dry stems. Finally, the clouds gathered, and a heavy rain fell. Within weeks, the garden burst into a riot of colors. Kavin realized that by focusing on the joy of the future bloom, the sadness of the drought hadn't broken his spirit.
